Mediterranean Chicken Wings

This is a wonderful baked dish that can be served as a main course (with a garnish or salad) or as a snack to enjoy with beer or other beverages.

  • 1. Prepare everything you need before you start, and preheat the oven to 400° F.
  • 2. For the marinade, mix the cinnamon, paprika and cardamom in a deep bowl. Add the Italian herb mix (which you can buy from any grocery store), along with the salt and oil.
  • 3. With a basting brush stir all the ingredients until smooth.
    Dip the chicken wings, one by one, into the bowl. Brush each wing with the marinade.
  • 4. Leave the prepared chicken wings in the bowl for 20 minutes, so they absorb the smell of the spices and herbs.
  • 5. Put the wings into a baking dish (A clay or ceramic dish is best, as it retains the heat longer and the cooked meat becomes beautifully tender). Bake this in the oven for 20-25 minutes. Five minutes before the end of baking, you can increase the temperature for a crispier skin.
  • 6. Remove your Mediterranean-style chicken wings from the oven and serve them with an optional decoration of chopped dill and parsley. Bon appetit!
